No Romance on Valentine's Day is No Reason Not to Love

There’s a triple-negative in the title of this post, but I can’t think of any other way to say it.  So many people have expressed a desire to enter my Valentine’s Day Giveaway of $150 dinner for two at Georgia Brown’s, yet have not entered because they do not have a romantic interest with which to share $150 worth of Georgia Brown’s food.

O.

M.

Gee.

I guess y’all just don’t like food like I do! I would eat $150 worth of Georgia Brown’s food BY.MY.SELF.! But even more than this, I feel like we’re missing the point, here.  Valentine’s Day is a day we set aside to celebrate the love in our lives — ALL of it, whether romantic or familial.  And if we aren’t feeling the love from people in our lives, this is a GREAT time to examine why that is! Are we giving enough love to others? If Christ is the perfect example of love, then this is our road-map for showing love:

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.” — 1 John 3:16

Who have you put aside your own feelings for lately? Who do you know that deserves to be treated to a lovely dinner with live jazz at DC’s own Georgia Brown’s? Enter the contest, win and then TAKE THAT PERSON! Love is so much more and so much deeper than the fickleness of romance. Love is long-suffering, its being patient and kind and humble and faithful.  Let’s keep that in mind during this season of love, and let’s translate that season into a lifestyle.

And let your mouth water over Georgia Brown’s Valentine’s Day menu:
