The Haps: How To Get Financial Peace, Charity Fundraisers & More

The New York Haps:

If there is anything I’ve learned living in New York with a see-saw income these past two months, it’s that I don’t have financial peace. Like NONE.  I just left a Nicki-Minaj-style voice mail on a debtor’s answering machine because I had to buy off-brand hazlenut spread instead of Nutella yesterday because my debtors are super-late with the payments — and because I don’t have financial peace.

So, I am taking a class.  And it  is awesome.  Aptly titled “Financial Peace University,” Journey Church in Manhattan is offering a FREE book, “Dave Ramsey’s Complete Guide to Money,” to accompany Pastor Kerrick’s free (obviously) 8-week sermon series on Financial Peace, which is supplemented by weekly growth groups to help you find biblical financial peace.  This is absolutely a series on how to budget and spend your money wisely, but it also will help you grow your faith in God’s ability to be exactly who He says He is — our provider.  Our needs are not fulfilled by our job (or lack there of); our needs are fulfilled by Him and Him alone, and through this free course, you can learn to develop that level of peace, patience and faith in God. Find out more here and get daily financial peace devotionals for the next 8 weeks by liking The Journey Church’s Facebook page.  Diva Note: I’m not being sponsored by The Journey Church, I am just really excited for this class and to finally get peace in this area of my life!
