DC District Diva's Screen Play is a Top Ten Finalist!!
Out of 400 submissions from across the globe, your own DC District Diva’s VERY FIRST screenplay “Broken Cisterns” has been chosen as a top 10 finalist in the Rockstone Foundation / Black Women’s Entertainment Network Webseries Screenwriting Contest!! I am so honored and extremely humbled!!
I wrote this screenplay because I don’t see any characters on T.V. or film that deal with Black Christian women and real life issues without over-the-top caricatures and ridiculous drama. My webseries is about real women with real issues who are really serious about living their lives for Christ but go through human struggles. Here’s a short synopsis of “Broken Cisterns”: ” Twenty-six year old Willow Tanner is living the perfect dream: gorgeous and devoted husband, great career, good friends, enviable life — until a jarring event zaps her awake.”
Because the screenplay is the pilot episode for a webseries, it is only 10 pages long, so:
Go HERE to read, comment, and vote for Broken Cisterns!!
The winner will be announced in mid-August, and will receive $10,000 to get her/his script produced!! Please help me bring this vision to life!
I can’t go to the site from my work computer so I will try to remember to read & vote when I get home. Congrats homie!
