Dining with a Diva: "In The Mix" with GRAMMY 365

On June 30, the D.C. chapter of GRAMMY 365 and it’s fabulous Program Manager and Event Producer Wendi Cherry hosted a networking event, “In The Mix,” at McCormick & Schmick’s on 9th & F.

Sectioned off into our own corner and private bar of the restaurant, the GRAMMY guests enjoyed a spread akin to what I believe Jesus will have prepared for me when He calls me home: decadent crab cakes drenched in a corn chowder remoulade sauce, cucumber cream cheese puffs, stuffed spinach pastries, shrimp potato cakes, and bourbon honey glazed chicken, followed by fudge cake, lemon pastries, and strawberries. (Have YOU been to McCormick yet?)

But, I digress. From artists, to super attorneys, to music publishers, to songwriters, bloggers, and more, fellow lovers of music in the D.C. area came out to meet and greet the GRAMMY Board Members. The President and the national representatives spoke on the chapter’s support for the Performance Rights Act that you may have heard Kathy Hughes speak out against on the radio (Read the pros and cons of the Bill here). And invitations to their next event were extended.

There was amazing talent in that room steeped in years in the music industry.  If you are in the D.C. area, are in the industry or trying to break in, WHY WEREN’T YOU THERE? Rectify that; don’t miss the next one: join the D.C. chapter of GRAMMY 365.

Shout out to Wendi for a wonderfully planned event with amazing food! Check my timeline and follow me on Twitter to see my live tweets of the event.
