FASHION WEEK: BCBG MAX AZRIA SHOW (PICS)
Twenty-twelve has definitely been a year of firsts! Today marks my first ever Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (NYFW) at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan and I can’t imagine a better way to kick it off than with the BCBG: Max Azria show!
For designer Max Azria, Spring/Summer 2013 is all about the classic look with an edge. Azria’s daring collection mixed laces and sheer fabrics, plunging necklines and slim cut jackets overwhelmingly styled in black and white patterns with splashes of tangerine. The label’s creative director Lubov Azria tells Relaxnews: “It’s a collection born from all that we suppress. Only to be revealed in our most private moments… Seduction, edge, power, and strength.” See for yourself:
Designer Max Azria:
Victoria’s Secret supermodel Selita Ebanks was in attendance and she was breathtakingly gorgeous. I also interviewed beautiful R&B songstress Estelle after the show who called the show “amazing! Max Azria is a great designer.” I absolutely agree — though it would have been wonderful to see chocolate divas strutting the runway as well as sitting in the audience.
This afternoon, I’ll be hitting up the Arise Magazine: African Icons show, so I’m excited to see what African designers have cooking for Spring/Summer 2013! I’ll also be posting my favorite “Tent Fashion” styles from these fierce ladies in the waiting tent and all around the Lincoln Center!
