The "Awkward Black Girl" and the DC District Diva TODAY!!!
In case you haven’t heard, Issa Rae is the new Black — filmmaker, that is. She has produced and directed several webseries, including her latest, and most popular to date series, “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.” Through this hilarious series, she shows us that Black women are so much more than the two-dimensional caricatures that we often see in the media. With the success of her webseries, she proves that if we don’t like what we see on T.V., we can tell our OWN stories — and be successful doing it. That is why I’m excited to interview her today! I’ll be getting the inside scoop on “Awkward Black Girl” and all things Issa Rae, so let me know if you have any questions you’d like me to ask. In the meantime, watch the latest episode of ABG and TRY not to laugh outloud!! (WARNING: strong use of profanity, so if cursing is an area you struggle with, don’t be tempted!)
P.S.: Support my Black Christian webseries “Broken Cisterns”! My screenplay for the pilot episode of my webseries is a top-ten finalist in the Rockstone Foundation / Black Women’s Entertainment Network contest. Go HERE to vote and comment on “Broken Cisterns”!
Right, Tiara?! I really want to send the series to my mom, but then I remember and be like…oh, maybe not. But it’s hilarious!!
