Brooke Obie and the Oprah Winfrey Interview

On April 19, 2017, Brooke Obie caught up with the Queen of Media, Ms. Oprah Winfrey at a New York press junket for her new film The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. Ms. Winfrey was so stunned to see only Black women journalists at the press junket that she began to dance and sing “Black Girl Magic!”

She was so excited that she asked her assistant to bring her her phone so that she could livestream our press conference on Facebook. After each of us asked our questions to Ms. Winfrey and the cast and director of Henrietta Lacks, Ms. Winfrey insisted we take a #BlackGirlMagic group picture, which she posted to her Instagram page:
